How Kindling works

Not sure where to start? Here is a step-by-step guide:

1. Become a member

Join our community of dreamers and travel enthusiasts. In a world populated by bots and fake profiles, we make it a point to keep this space as human and as authentic as possible. When it comes to connecting with others, you’ll be able to select the privacy option that fits you best so you only get the messages you want. We promise not to share your data with any third party.

2. Create your personalised traveler profile

Let your fellow travellers know who you are, where you have already been, and what languages you speak by filling out your basic profile information. In the spirit of authenticity, we kindly ask you to add a profile picture of yourself. This will make it easier for you to find and connect to like-minded travellers.

3. Start dreaming

We all know that every trip starts in our imagination. Our platform features hundreds of bucket list ideas to get you inspired and ready to start planning your next journey. You can currently see bucket list ideas from the following categories: adrenaline & daring, cultural / historic & cerebral, sensuous / romantic, spiritual (or sacred) and sublime, and gastronomic. We are constantly adding more experiences and expanding our list.

Click on the heart icon to save a particular bucket list experience to your personalised travel bucket list. Some of the bucket list ideas on our platform are already part of a trip that can be booked via Kindling. But if there is no trip yet, get in touch with us and we can design it specifically for you.

Have an idea for an experience that is not on our list? Get in touch with us and we’ll add it. Then you can share it with your friends and we’ll design a custom trip for you to enjoy together.

4. Connect with like-minded travellers via our travelpods

Each bucket list idea featured on Kindling is connected to a travelpod, where you can connect with other travellers and locals interested in that particular experience.

The travelpod is a place where you can ask questions, share knowledge, and get a group together to have that experience with. Our team of travel specialists is here to bring your bucket list ideas to life.

5. Use the private chat to find your next travel companion

In addition to the travelpods, you also have the option to connect to a fellow traveller and send them a private message.

In order to protect our community from unwanted messages, we have added three privacy options you can choose from, so you will only find wanted communication in your inbox. You can select your preferred option in Menu > Settings.

6. Book your next trip

Ready for take off? We’re here to make your bucket list dreams come true. Book one of our existing unique trips that are linked to bucket list ideas or get in touch with us and we’ll create a custom trip for you.

Kindling trips, kindling dreams

It is our dream to make it as easy as possible for travellers to connect to each other and the places they visit in a deeper way. But we can't do it alone. In fact, we depend on every single traveller who joins our community to make this space as useful and positive as possible.

We therefore encourage you to share your experiences of places you have already visited by giving recommendations and answering questions in the travelpods.

By doing this, you are not only helping us learn about who and what we should add to our platform, but you will also play a vital role in empowering more travellers to venture out into the big wide world.
